Le titre de cette série est un clin d'œil au film The Birds (Les Oiseaux), d'Alfred Hitchcock, sorti en 1963. Bodega Bay est le nom de la petite ville portuaire californienne où se déroule cette fiction, et les attaques d'oiseaux qu'elle relate.
Ces photographies ont été prises dans des lieux très éloignés, de par leurs emplacements géographiques et leurs natures (côte Pacifique des Etats-Unis ou du Canada, Mer Méditerranée, lac des Alpes...). Pourtant, l'association de ces images au sein d'une série, sous ce titre évocateur d'un lieu et d'une intrigue préexistante, les lie artificiellement dans une unité de lieu et d'action fictionnelle hypothétique.
En outre, en plus de la présence suggérée ou explicite de points d'eau, une autre présence lie ces photographies. Ces images finies et closes se retrouvent pénétrées par des intrus. Des oiseaux entrent dans le champs de manière fortuite, aléatoire. Le plus souvent, cela vient déséquilibrer la composition originellement imaginée de ces paysages paisibles et bien ordonnés que je dois alors capturer à nouveau. Pourtant, parfois, le hasard est heureux et ces nouveaux éléments imprévisibles s'agencent parfaitement dans le décor. Les oiseaux font figure d'éléments perturbateurs venant percer ces bulles de récits initiales pour s'y intégrer plus ou moins harmonieusement.

The title of this series is a nod to the film The Birds, by Alfred Hitchcock, released in 1963. Bodega Bay is the name of the small Californian port town where this fiction and the attacks of birds it relates take place.
These photographs were taken in very distant places, by their geographical locations and their natures (Pacific coast of the United States or Canada, Mediterranean Sea, lake of the Alps...). However, the association of these images within a series, under this evocative title of a place and a pre-existing plot, binds them artificially in a unity of place and hypothetical fictional action.
Moreover, in addition to the suggested or explicit presence of water points, another presence links these photographs. These finished and closed images find themselves penetrated by intruders. Birds enter the fields in a fortuitous, random way. Most often, this unbalances the originally imagined composition of these peaceful and well-ordered landscapes that I have to capture again. However, sometimes, chance is happy and these new unpredictable elements fit perfectly into the scenery. The birds appear as disturbing elements coming to pierce these initial story bubbles to integrate more or less harmoniously.
